I find that the Odyssey has much revelance to today. While I was reading the Odyssey I tended to think to myself, “what idiots these people must be to fall for such temptation.” But than I find myself realizing that people today can fall for things that are even more obvious than Circe, the Lotus, The Sirens’ song, and the Cattle of the sun were.Today people fall for temptation so easily, that a spell doesn’t even need to be cast upon them for them to fall into traps that will not better themselves. People allow themselves to give into temptation, even at many times when they know it is wrong. I found the temptation in this book was the most relatable part to todays economy.
